VA Firefighters Assn Awards Contract To SiteVision
Virginia State Firefighters Association (VSFA) ChoosesSiteVision To Implement New Website
Roanoke, VA July 14, 2010: With more than 13,000 members across the Commonwealth, and founded in 1886, the VSFA has long served as the champions of Virginia's fire departments and rescue squads as well as support for Virginia's emergency responders. Now, in an innovative move to ensure Virginia has access to its comprehensive Fire Safety Operational Guideline, VSFA has chosen SiteVision to develop an online version of the guideline. Included in the project will be implementing the VSFA's current website into a comprehensive content management system developed and hosted by SiteVision.
The website will include all Sections, Chapters, Teaching Guidelines and Participant Guidelines of the Community Fire Safety Operational Guideline as developed by VSFA under a FEMA grant. Included will be data collection and analysis tools, downloadable forms and templates, an interactive calendar, support for streaming videos, and a teaching tutorial. Aside from public pages, the site will feature proactive site management through password protected areas.
Content will feature comprehensive, illustrated community fire safety tips by category for participants and firefighter instructional guidelines to implement community programs for schools, personnel and various community groups.
A special feature will allow firefighter associations - nationwide - to register and access the Instructional Guideline to share with their own firefighters and communities.
