Northern Virginia Hospital Alliance Teams with SiteVision to Create Enhanced Website Content Management System.

Roanoke, VA June 8, 2009: As internal and external communications requirements became more complex, the Northern Virginia Hospital Alliance, (NVHA) looked to SiteVision to update and enhance their website usability, communication and management functions.

To that end, SiteVision, who partners with other member agencies, first developed a comprehensive, online document management system, as well as an interactive calendar to log, share and disseminate information about current and future events. The new content management system incorporates existing modules, while allowing administrators to proactively and dynamically manage additional site content. Administrative training helps those using the system better understand and utilize its capabilities.

The Northern Virginia Hospital Alliance was established to better prepare the 13 hospitals of Northern Virginia to respond to significant emergencies. Specifically, NVHA’s mission is to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive hospital emergency preparedness program capable of responding to incidents involving all hazards, including attacks to the community using weapons of mass destruction.  This response capability is achieved through collaboration with the members and other hospitals in the NCR as well as other community partners such as Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Public Health and others. Within the Commonwealth of Virginia, NVHA serves as the regional coordinating entity for the Statewide Hospital Preparedness Program coordinated by the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) and Virginia Department of Health (VDH).
