Company History

1995 - 1996  :: The owner of SiteVision, Inc. worked as an account manager and in new business development for a regional advertising agency. During the later part of this period, the world wide web and the HTTP protocol was being discovered by businesses in an ever increasing manner. SiteVision, Inc. was created.

1996 - 1997 :: SiteVision, Inc. was one of the first companies in the Mid-Atlantic region to develop custom internet applications. We began web site, web application, and web consulting services and development early in 1996.  We were also one of the first firms in the Mid-Atlantic region to develop a multi-media marketing, advertising campaign to utilize and integrate the "World Wide Web".  We developed a multi media campaign that included Radio, TV, and Internet mediums to promote a local city guide and information portal called "MetroWire".  The sponsors at the beginning where Kroger Mid-Atlantic, WSLS TV-10, WROV Radio, and SiteVision, Inc.  During this period, SiteVision, Inc. was based out of Roanoke, Va.

1998 - 1999 :: SiteVision, Inc. continued to develop web sites for customers and for the clients of multiple advertising agencies in the Roanoke, Va. area.  We developed interactive and data driven applications for the Internet as well as MS Access applicatons to help small businesses run their operations.  During this period, other organizations began to sub-contract work to SiteVision, Inc.  Projects that we worked on during this period included database consulting and quote software development for Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield, a routing and call center application for the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority, an enhanced mapping interface for Henry County E-911/CAD. SiteVision, Inc. began a relationship with another local web development and hosting operation called Icons, Inc. in order to share work loads and develop hosting solutions for its clients.

2000 - 2003 :: SiteVision, Inc. partners with a Staunton, Va. based geographic information systems(GIS)/Mapping development company called Terralogic, Inc.  During this period, we concentrated solely on GIS/Mapping applications development and hosting for our client base.  Our clients and development projects included; Virginia Department of Economic Development, Virginia Department of Forestry, Virginia Department of Corrections, Virginia Geographic Information Network, Booze Allen Hamilton, US Navy, NASA, WestVaco, Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, and multiple local, state, and federal governmental agencies as well as private/public and non-profit organizations.  Late in 2003, the owner of Terralogic decided to follow his interests in the academic venue of higher education and SiteVision, Inc. acquired the development and hosting clients from Terralogic, Inc.

2003 - 2005 :: SiteVision, Inc. maintained existing projects and developed new projects with new customers.  We diversified our capability base to include all areas of application development, not just GIS applications.  We utilized and sub-contracted our hosting operations to our long time business associates and friends at Icons, Inc. in Roanoke, Va. Some of the projects we developed during this period included a environmental tracking and analysis program with GIS/Mapping capability for DuPont, a land management system for The Virginia Outdoors Foundation, multiple higher education web site content management systems for multiple universities across the country, advanced emergency management systems for the Virginia healthcare industry, and many more.

2006 - 2009 :: The SiteVision, Inc. development and hosting base grew substantially during the previous period and we needed additional resources and hosting capabilities to perform at the levels our clients expected.  Late in 2005, we purchased the assets, building, and customer base of Icons, Inc. in Roanoke, Va. This allowed us to obtain control over hosting operations and diversify our customer base to a wider degree. Since 2006, we have grown our development and hosting base business by 20% each year.  Some of the noteworthy projects we developed during this period; A media forecasting and analysis application for Anthem/Well Point Direct Markets, Multi Media Management applications and social networking applications for the International Mission Board, various Virginia Hospital and Healthcare emergency management and operations information system initiatives for the State of Virginia, hosting back-up, redundancy, and fail-over operations for various state emergency management systems, continued CMS integration and re-deployment for various local, state, private/public, and non-profit organizations, and of course continued GIS/Mapping application consulting, deployment, development and hosting.
